I still have a few, but only a few of the tweeters left.  I also still have the powered woofers available

Kevin

Parts Express carries a Beston circular ribbon tweeter.  It looks like it may be based on the original design.  Here is a link:

Might be worth a look to see if it is a possible replacement if the original is no longer available.

Just a thought.

My Strata Mini's - Both sub amps appear to have failed
« Reply #42 on: 18 Aug 2012, 03:36 pm »
Hello,
I am also searching all over for someone to help with my Strata Mini's.. except I have a different problem - Both rear woofershave developed issues in the same short timeframe. The rest of the speaker works fine as far as I can tell.

Both speakers and all the amp/sources are plugged into surge protectors, so I dont think there was a power surge to cause my issues. The left speaker's sub does work with input except it always has a low continuous static-like rumbling noise whenever the power is on. It continues even if all wires are unplugged and it is not a 60hz hum.

The right speaker rear woofer apears to have simultaneously stopped working all together. When I turn the volume knob the sub makes popping/crackling noises but no audio.  These are 4 years old and I am a prior HT tech/installer. I don't ever turn them up to crazy levels, and they haven't had any other unusual circumstances that would make me suspicious.

Since AV123 no longer exists, if these sub amps are shot for some reason.. what can I do? I live in Nashville and there is no shortage of pro-audio expertise around here, but at the very least I'd love to know what is likely to be wrong before I pay bench diagnostic fees etc (if anyone will even look at them). Otherwise, does anyone at all know if someone out there will still service any of this gear anywhere in the continental US?

Thanks for ANY help you may offer.

Danny Richie

You might check with Murrel.  He use to do electronic repairs for AV123.  He might have some insight.

If you have a forum account over at Chase Home Theater, you can PM him there.
