Today, I came up with a simple idea to make fabric covers for speakers and stereo components.  I ventured off to Yardage Town to pick up 1.5 yards of Rayon/Cotton (with linen-like patterns) in black.  I also bought a pack of witchery stitchery.  Basically for the sewing machine challenged people like myself.  It's a strip of glue tissue which bonds fabrics together as you iron it.

So for the next few days, I should be able to come up with an interesting set of dust-covers.

I was wondering anyone here knows whether or not Home Depot sells any heavy slipmats made of rubber  so I can put between the fabric as weight dampening, or so I can put between the speaker stand and the speaker.  This will help dampen the vibration as well as avoid scratching the speaker.  I've seen some fairly weighted mousepads, but I want something heavier.

I know some people use 16" bicycle tubing with little air in it to support pre-amps, but I don't think the aesthetics would go too well.
