Selling my Bang & Olufsen Beocenter 9000. This is one of the all-time iconic B&O components--a Jacob Jenson design masterpiece. I wanted one of these ever since I was a teenager, so I'm not thrilled about selling, but I do need to slim down the collection.

I know this brand isn't everyone's cup of tea around here, but IMHO, these things are too easily dismissed by people who see this stuff and think "lifestyle" or, "bose." High-quality Phillips cd mechanism, solid phono stage, awesome touch panel controls, star-trek style sliding compartments, and surprisingly good sound quality. I am currently running it with a set of DCM TF-600s, but this machine was really designed to be used with powered Beolab speakers, as the amp is rated at 30WPC. That said, it has pre-amp outs, so you could hook up any amp with ease. I always thought it would be cool to get a small but powerful digital amp and run some aluminum and black Magnepan 1.7s...

This particular unit is in very good cosmetic condition. There is one small mark towards the left of the top aluminum cover. I tried to capture it in the pics. I have the original box, not sure about the packing material, and  def. don't have the manual--but that's easily available online.  The Beolink 1000 remote, which is also included, has a little piece of rubber missing from the "increase volume" button.

Operationally excellent. This machine was serviced last year by my one of the best B&O guru's around. He replaced the failure-prone Frako capacitors and also serviced the tape deck and CD transport. (There's the mistaken idea that these things are difficult to repair--they just used a different sort of logic in everything from opening up the unit to how bits were layed out--than their Japanese contemporaries.)
