Fantastic speakers in my experience.  In my room they took a long time to set them up to gel (I had one of the worst rooms possible), but when they did, they were splendid and worth the effort.

Nothing more to add except these speakers look even better in person than they do in the pictures. The workmanship is flawless and they sound great.  As Josh states, these take a bit of effort setting up but the payoff is worth it.  They sound great with high powered amps and are really stunning to look at.  They are transparent and the OB Seas magnesium coax drivers have controlled directivity and are very coherent.  The sealed bass drivers are very articulate and tuneful.

They are currently at my house and I'd be happy to demonstrate them to anyone interested. These speakers sold for almost $5,000 new, I believe, and Jeff's asking price is a great deal, IMO.

Cheers

Jack

Hey, I was wondering if someone could direct me to a website for these speakers.  Thanks.

Look here:

http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?board=91.0

Paul Hilgeman, the owner, closed doors a few years back but he still provides warranty support. His reasons are in the thread linked above.

As everyone else has said, a very fine speaker indeed. PM me and I can send you his contact info.

Best,
Anand.

The speaker manufacturer website listed - nomad-audio dot com does not work and leads to some generic search type site. Supposedly based out of Arlington Heights, IL and the article above lists contact information

Yep, the website is down but the drivers are available through Madisound (the coax mid/tweeter is a Seas and very high quality) and I think the woofers are Peerless.  They are in Chicago and available for demonstration.  These are some of the coolest looking speakers I have ever seen and Paul H. is a very talented speaker designer.

The cabinets are very well constructed and I can't find a flaw anywhere.  I've never read a less than positive review of these speakers.  They also sound great with any type of music (Jazz, Rock, Classical, etc.).  The pictures do not do these justice.

Did you check any of the links or the former circle on audiocircle?  I did a quick google search and found pretty detailed specs in the stereotimes review:

No, I didn't read them.  I will.  This is a powerful reminder not to send notes after taking an Ambien.  :duh:

No worries, I was just trying to help. Paul H, the designer is a really talented and technical guy.  Bess speakers measure ruler flat and are an easy load for an amp. They are efficient and well designed.  The cabinets were a pain in the butt to build and the bamboo material is about nine times more expensive than MDF.  This pair has the high gloss finish and sold for $4,900 new.  Factoring in the high quality materials and time of construction, I don't think Paul was making much money.

The only downside is they are local pickup in Chicago.  Also, bass is articulate and in the 30's.  Perfect for music but HT bass freaks may want to add a sub for explosions or very deep bass.  I've never read a review of these that was not positive.  Midrange and vocals are magic with proper setup.

Full-range, coax drivers by Seas which act as a waveguide, OB design, perfectly integrated sealed bass in the 30's, exotic bamboo cabinets that are hand built and well designed xover for less than half of what they cost new?  These speakers are literally like new and they sound great.  Call me if anyone wants to see them in person.
