The “crown jewel” of this sale is an AR-ES-1 tt with all the Merrill mods. (That’s why it’s often called the Merrill “Modem.”) Includes the “Heirloom” periphery ring and center weight, OPS, leaded acrylic platter, Graham box, AQ PT-5 arm, Grado “Prestige Series” cartridge with “Gold” body and MCZ stylus, BL-4 IC and many other extras. Call if you want more details. (Retail cost on this “package” is $2500; opening bid will be $400!)
Other new items include an “iPod silver” Tivoli iPal radio, two AQ iPod cords, and some amazing sound recordings: Factory-sealed copies of Laura Nyro, the ultra-rare boxed set of Emmylou Harris with the Nash Ramblers including not only the CD but also the video and other goodies, also the 5-CD original issue set of Tori Amos’ The Piano. (This is the one with the original Bosendorfer plastic keys, not the later reissue with the cardboard “piano.”) Also, ye of chaste soul, note that there is a sealed (never drooled on) 3-CD box set of Initiales: BD by Brigitte Bardot with an enclosed booklet showing never before revealed revealing photographs. (Scott, don’t bring your wife.) Also there are sealed CD sets of Erroll Garner, Dizzy Gillespie, and sealed LPs by various artists such as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, and the best LP offering here (not sealed, but played only 2X), is SuperBass with Ray Brown (and 9 other bassists!) which is 180-gram, numbered, and long out of print.
