Anyone see this article? It appeared in the Thursday Times. I guess turntables are "officially" back in the mainstream. Yeah!

A fun read. Good advice. Maybe steer some people away from the USB-included 75 dollar Crosley!

Agreed. That's why I almost given up my CDs & DVD-audio for over a year now & stay with my vinyls amost 100% my music time, strictly for better sound.

I am still using the "celebrated Thorens 125II with its stock tonearm" (per yr New York Times link) of 75s. using a cheapie no-name MM cartridge with a conical stylus.

Yet, this 37-year young TT tracks perfectly the many many hundreds of recyled LPs I collected dirt cheap from thrift stores.

I play WET, thanks to the WET anti-skating bias adjustment scale come with its stock tone arm. Probably one & only brandname TT on this planet got wet tracking bias setting.

With PROPER TT set up, my vinyl music sound superb at all time.

Hey!

Good read  :D Thanks RPM123 for bringing this up and wolfy For the link.

Well, good to see an article about turntable in a big mainstream prints like NYT and it was a positive one also. With interviews form real analog people.

I feel $300 TT is still sound expensive for most people and I think they forgot to mention phono stage also. But at least they show what good quality TTs could be had out there.

Still because this I'm sure will get attention from more people on to TT. OK, time for some musics on LPs for me.  :D

Take care,

Isn't it strange how the LP is going to outlive the CD?
It seems like just yesterday Popular Science was running articles about this revolutionary laser technology which rendered LPs obsolete in one fell swoop and my brother was laughing at me for not buying a CD player.
Here we are many years later and I just took an album off of the turntable.
Thanks for posting the article.
