Logitech Touch 3rd Part Applet Install
« on: 12 Apr 2012, 04:03 pm »
I am trying to install the Enhanced Digital Output applet but am having problems...

Relevant info:
   Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.2 - r33893
   Squeezebox Touch Firmware: 7.7.2-r9663

Recommended Applets Only is deselected.

When I select 3rd Party Apps the Touch says it is "Fetching Applet List" then moves onto the 3rd Party Apps screen reporting "No Applets Found".

I have rebooted my PC and Touch and combed through all settings on the Touch, Media Server and mysqueezebox.com. Is there a setting somewhere I need to enable? Help...

Thanks,

Martin

I have no real idea, but maybe you need to be logged into MySqueezebox.com?

Martin,

Are you using any of the TT 3 mods? You may need to uninstall them and return the Touch to the factory default settings.

I just installed the applet in a second Touch and had no problems. The third party applets menu came up just fine. I did not have any TT 3 mods on either of the Touch.

As Wayne said, I needed to reset to factory defaults...upgraded to 7.7.2 on server and Touch, cleared the cache and then did the Enhanced digital output (for the life of me can't remember where it was, but it wasn't in the 3d party apps, I think it was well just there in apps vice 3d party)...I then reinstalled the TT 3.0 mod, all is well.  Playing 24/176 as I write.

Just ensure you stream FLAC vice PCM as Wayne mentioned above.

Does this do anything for apple lossless compression? If not, how to convert?

Well this has been a real pain but I finally got the app installed and sending 24/176.4 and 24/192 directly to my PS Audio Digital Link III using the S/PDIF connection.  :thumb:

I had to reset the Touch to the factory defaults then had networking issues getting the Touch reconnected to my Motorola SGB6580 router/modem.  The Motorola is great about 95% of the time but the other 5% it can be VERY finicky and a real pain in the a$$.

Now to listen...

Is there a sonic benefit to this applet over the TT3.0 mods or is it solely to enable support of higher sample rates?
