Bought an amp to run the sub in a very affordable 2.1 system I'm putting together for a family member, but it was damaged in transport. It's a Gallo Micro system & I'm running it with a cheap receiver. Just looking for a very affordable, preferably sub-$100 solution to run a sub-woofer. Any input greatly appreciated.

Go to partsexpress.com - search for plate amp
There are several under $100 to choose from

Hi Max,I have a Marantz MA 500 mono amp that would work perfect for a sub.It puts out 125 watts and is mint shape. If your interested give me an e-mail(mark.korda@myfairpoint.net)or 207-773-7862.I could send you a picture of it.This amp was made for a sub to be used in a home theater situation....Mark Korda
