I have a brand new in original box B & O MMC 1 cartridge. The unit was purchased in 1997 from the B & O store in Chicago as a 'spare' for a friend of mine's 8002 turntable. The serial number is 8954810 (on the box). It retailed for $500 and represented Bang and Olufsen's pinnacle of cartridge technology. It uses a .1 X .1 mm square nude line contact stylus in a sapphire tube cantilever.
This is an extremely small and light cartridge (1.6 gm) designed specifically for B & O turntables, but it can be mounted on other tables using a dedicated mounting bracket (included if you wish). The Soundsmith in N.Y. still works with these cartridges and sells 'modded' versions as well as a clear version of the aforementioned mounting bracket.
