I didn't have a problem with using a GZ32 in the 36.5 but I also didn't do it for too long preferring a 5AR4 in the pre-amp and, alternately, a GZ32 and a High Wycomb GZ37 in a Modwright Sony 9100ES.

if the changing of a rectifier tubes blows the fuse in the 36.5 what does this signify?
need a bigger fuse, tube not compatible, or rectifier defective??
thanks again

I have tried these also and my experience was the same . Bottom line, not a good match. Have not looked at the data sheet, but my guess is that our PS is not designed for this specific tube.
Thanks,
Dan
