Don't forget the boxes and packing weight too. And it's the size that makes for some cost as well... Not to mention that shipping has all gone up in the US due to gas prices.

We'll from the US to Canada it's around 25% more of the total cost,so 2000 worth of goods is 560.00 in shipping @
130lbs(4 boxes)diffusers.I know besides weight they go by size also.
I picked up a 20a Torus from the US @ 125lbs=170.00
No matter where you buy they F___you over, course we don't have to buy either.

oh man , i really dont know if is worth it or not?
What do you think, $730 shiping for 120 pounds of 600 value.
All i know that by using usps i could save 300, not sure why they wanted to partner with bongous.

If you google DIY basstrap you can see many options to make your own. You can build scores of them for not much money.

I just built some up a couple weeks ago, found a local source that carries rockwool, bought some wood to build a frame, and some loose fabric for a cover.  Was pretty easy with a few tools.

Hardest part will be finding a source for the rigid fiberglass.

If it is cost that much to ship,  I would rather make them myself. $730 is enough to make at least 15 2x4 4" 703 panel. Just my 2cts.

$730 is enough to cover your room wall to ceiling and stich a few into a mattress while you're at it.

well im from oversea, we dont have those material ready like you guys get in the states. One thing doesnt make sense, there 1 in 48x24 weight 10 pounds then a 2 in thick should double the weight to 20 pounds, but there 4 in bass trap is actually 20 pound, isnt it suppose to be 40? but 40 pounds bass trap is just way too much, so i guess this sale guy is just trowing wrong number just to make sale. i think since they have partner with bongous, they might get some sort incentive back from customer who use the shpping service through them. Thats why bongous are rediculusly high.

703 is 3 lbs per cubic foot, so a 2 foot x 4 foot x 2 inch piece weighs 4 lbs

705 is 6 lbs per cubic foot, so it would weigh 8 lbs.

Some shippers will charge more then the actual weight however, if it is a large package compared to the weight.

Shipping is not cheap and the reason is not so much about the weight but the size. We try to maximize our boxes to get the customers the best value vs shipping. Actually it was the whole reason we opened a plant in Europe!  :o

Rockwool has similar characteristics as rigid fiberglass, so if you have rockwool, I would diy some panels with what is available there instead of trying to ship international.  Save $$$$$ and spend on music.

Go to Ethan Winer's website and read. Also, google acoustic panels, there are a lot of Youtube videos about diy projects.

I'm just about finished with 6 panels, just playing with the trim to look good.  Rockwool is a bitch to work with, tho.  I thought it would be easier than fiberglass, but it was worse.  Unless I had a bad batch.  If you do it yourself, definitely use gloves, mask and eye protection.  I was going to use burlap to wrap it in, but when I saw how dusty and fiberous it was, I went downtown (Los Angeles) to the garment district and got some beautiful burgundy linen (cheap, $4/yd!  :P), tighter weave than burlap, but could still blow air through easily.  It's a fun project.

Gik's pricing on say 12 gridfusers(4per box)(172.00)is excellent coming from the US to say Alberta Canada.
Was selling 8 of those to go across Canada(Toronto area).
Canada post wanted 245.56(that's in 4 boxes 2'X4'),I then put all 8 in one box 2'X2'X4'H(post Can't deliver as it's too big.
Then I made two boxes 26X26X26H,thought for sure  they would go(TOO FN big again.
Talked to Manitoulin trucking ltd, here's where it gets real good:
The one box 2'X2'X4'(all cardboard)price was 272.78,so after I had made two boxes I thought maybe cheaper.
So I call in for another quote for TWO BOXES@26"X26"X26"(12LBS per box).
Here's this quote with two smaller boxes @12LBS a pc......$432.00....DOUBLE THE PRICE.
I asked her how could that be as one box makes the same dimensions I was quoted$257.41
The rep said let me see what I can do,she came up with 257.41.What a bunch of FKn LOSERS.
I can only imagine if people don't shop around how SCREWED they can get with these companies.
One price to DOUBLE on the same size and weight.
As they say in sunny Ablerta(Premier of Alberta)SHOOT,SHOVEL AND SHUTUP,if only it was about the year 1810.
So 170 ish from the US to alberta isn`t bad compared to Canada.
Support local,I don`t  think so.
There I feel a whole mess better now :thumb:.
