Sold: OutLaw Audio 990 preamp/processor (
nonworking) $20.00 USD
The intent of selling this nonworking OutLaw 990 is to provide a spare parts donor
for some electronics savy person who already owns an 990. The $20.00 price is just
enough to justify my time and gas money for advertising it and taking it to a parcel
courier for shipping ...that and it seems like a complete waste to just take it out to
the curb
I am the original owner. It had been my daily user in a nonsmoking, no pet, no children
environment. After six years of faithful service, one morning it clicked one time (as usual)
when I turned it on, a couple of seconds passed, then it clicked once again and turned off.
I tried numerous times to turn it on and the same cycle just repeated itself over and over.
I called the OutLaws and spoke with Scott ...he felt it was probably the power supply module
based upon the symptoms I described. Rather than pay an estimated $125.00 in parts and
labor plus the two-way shipping costs, I purchased different AV reciever with preamp-outs.
All pertinent information about this unit and downloadable documentation are available
at the
OutLaw's website. I updated the firmware to the latest/last version several years ago without difficulty.
