Impedance Matching

Impedance Matching

I am thinking about pairing a LS 36.5 with a Conrad Johnson MF 2500A amp.
I am a bit unclear about impedance matching.
The output impedance of the LS 36.5 is 110 ohms and the input impedance of the CJ is 100k ohms.
Is this a good match?

10x is the mininum recommendation for impedance matching (for good voltage transfer).  You are at around 100x.  You are absolutely fine.

With an output impedance of 100 ohms, you ought to be fine driving any amp with the 36.5, impedance-wise.

Never seen an amp with anything close to 1000 Ohm input impedance.

Most amps do NOT have an input impedance below 10K.  100 x 100 = 10K,  so that is the theoretically ideal match.  Nothing is set in stone of course, but 1:100 is the theoretical ideal.

Is there harm in being over 100x?  For example, while 100 ohm output impedance implies an ideal 10K input impedance, is there harm in having a 100K input impedance?
