Abby Normal takes a walk on the wild side.  Visually stunning speakers. I have actually seen these speakers at Jim's shop. I can tell you that blue dye produces an affect similar to bubbles floating to the top the water - weird I know, but so cool.  The light brown color of the veneer in the picture is also more prevalent in person and really produces a warm undertone - the combination of the brown and blue work extremely well together. If anyone is planning on attending AK Fest - you should seriously consider stopping by BRM's house to see these wonderful speakers.   Amazing work Jim!  Exceptional taste "Big Red Machine" - perhaps you should change to "Big Blue Machine."

What can I say?

Those look awesome Pete and probably sound even better.  Hope I get the opportunity to hear them in your man cave again someday.

Juan gets the real credit for these.  His veneering skills are over the top.

Wait til you see the next pair of supercharged ST's in the pipeline.  He book-matched the small veneer pieces up and down and all the way across the speaker on all 4 sides and you cannot see the seam.  This veneer looks like a huge paint splash on the speaker - doesn't even look like real wood veneer.  The customer found it, now the hunt is on for more of it!

The team at the shop is THE BEST!  Laid back, skilled, friendly (except Mary of course ) and no matter your custom choice or stock finish, they make sure it is right as if you were their first customer.

And Marty has it right, the finish is like looking into the deep ocean or a fish tank.  There is a glossy top layer and if you stand head on they are blue, then to one side they have a brown undertone, and then to another side they have a sea-green look - aqua-like.

We're going to put some goldfish tattoos on them since they look like fish tanks.

I will pick them up around 5:30 tonight after Jim's tennis match.

I'm a lucky A B Normal guy.

What can I say, Pete, those are insanely awesome!  If you behave maybe Terry and I will let you bring them to the get together.:) Only the minds of Jim and his team could have pulled this off, and they nailed it!  Congrats to everyone involved in producing these find speakers, especially Pete, who is going to be a very happy customer.

Congratulations, Pete!  I expect a very thorough and in-depth review

Very nice!  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I dig 'em.  For some reason I thought it might be appropriate to play this through those bodacious blue aqua-boogielicious beauties at least once...

Seein' as how there is so much Detroit involved an' all.

I looking forward to hearing a couple of candid comments about your (new) system as you settle into it.  I've been eying the Dude/Samson combo lately, but can't lay out the scratch to make any changes for a while...

Cheers bud, enjoy those mighty mighty SS8s.

:o Wow, those look amazing Pete. Congrats :thumb:

The best part is that they probably sound better than they look.

Those are psychedelic!  And they 'fit' the room soooo much better than the red ones. Much better vibe in the room pics now.

Congrats!
