What happened to db Audio Labs? Did they fall off the face of the earth? The last I heard they  were coming out with a new High Rez Dac in early spring. well it's late spring and still no word. The other thing is a lot of folks are selling off their db Audio Labs Dacs, WHAT GIVES?

I wouldn't call it a sell off. People buy and sell equipment constantly. dB DACs seem to have sold well so it shouldn't be a surprise to find them for sale. Maybe some are upgrading to hirez dB. Regardess, when the upgrade bug hits...

March 20th was the Vernal Equinox...aka the first day of spring.

Every new dac introduction seems to hit a snag somewhere or another, parts, assembly, etc... or an attempt to tweak a final design to get the last bit of performance that takes longer than planned.  Products that are delayed by a few months outnumber those that are released "on time".

Hi Seadogs,

The timing of our new DAC as the High Rez DAC is in the pipeline for release very soon. An official release date has not been released as of yet mind you.

Please realize that this is a very special product unlike other DACs currently in the marketplace. Everything from the unique battery system, to the digital interfaces themselves are unique. Tons of engineering than what is typical of most high rez DACs currently in the marketplace. In order to keep the price super reasonable we have to be very efficient sourcing of the many unique components. We also have to be very efficient design in our engineering too. Those things can't be rushed unless I priced this DAC closer to the $5K mark.

Somehow I suspect that most audiophiles would rather pay less than 50% of those prices but still get the same exact sonic performance :eyebrows:

BTW: Anyone is free to call or email me directly if they want information on my upcoming products. I strive to give everyone the most accurate information possible.

Cheers,
