Hey!

First, I don't own any Bryston stuff but I found this thread interesting.

What seems expensive to some can be just a pocket change to some.

As for me my system I consider it moderate among people here, DIY stuffs play big parts in my system. But it is expensive and complicated and out dated to my non-audio friends.  :icon_lol:

But like some have mentioned before more $ does not always mean better sound. Back in the old day when NYAR here were active and attended audio shows I've heard quite a numbers of different systems and some of high $ system failed to keep me in the sweet spot.

So, back to the question.  Well, there is no right or wrong answer to this question. It is all depend who you ask.

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Anonamemouse: you certainly have pointed out your position down to the hundredth of a second.

No worries, it just brings you to the area where I live, NOT my exact location. As a burglar there are many houses to choose from, and many look better and bigger and richer than ours.

I think if you can master DIY and woodworking, then your theoretical limit is sky high. Cost isn't everything.

Mastering DIY is easier said than done.  With that said, there are some nice kits out there that with some skill can save you some money.

I swear by my Bottlehead Foreplay Preamp that is in my 2nd system.

So true, I attended a High Reliability Soldering course many years ago and it was one of the most difficult courses that I undertook. This course was so demanding that they only authorized one individual in my class with a certificate upon graduation while the rest of us were required to put more time into further developing our skillsets once we got back to our units.

Talk about your work been scrutinized under a microscope  :duh:

Be well...
