FS: Teac and Akai R2R decks - $325 for both

I'm on a major cleaning/de-cluttering binge and these 2 tape decks are still sitting inmy closet and need a new home.  The first is a Teac A6010 -- in working condition but needs some tTLC to be really good (cleaning, perhaps a new belt, one VU meter light is out, etc.)  One of the real home studio workhorse decks of the 70s and has direct head outs so can be used with external tape head preamps.

The second machine is the star of the 1980s -- the Akai GX-747D.  Again, an excellent deck, mostly working but needs the tension arm belts replaced (as do just about all of them of this age), direct drive, glass-ferrite heads that will last forever (over 100k hours projected life).

Also included will be some tapes (blank or prsome with user made recordings on them) a box of cleaning and lubrication accessories, a splicing block, demagnetizer and tech manuals and at least one user guide.

They are heavy and fragile, so pickup only in Boulder/Denver Coloraddo area.  $325 takes the entire lot.  When refurbed, cleaned, lubed and aligned, the Teac typically sells for $250 - $4550 and the Akai for $900 - $1200 -- but I don't have the time or skill to do a proper reconstruction, and even if I paid somebody to do it, I just don't have the room and money to take on another media type.

I can also give the buyer a list of service/rebuild shops where one can get parts or complete rebuilds.

Just really need these gone.

Thanks,

Jim
