I don't know. G1x sensor size is only a tiny larger than micro 4/3, but it does not have interchangeable lens. I'd rather just buy a good micr 4/3 with some good prime lenses. The new Canon 5D mkiii, on the other hand, is exciting news.http://mashable.com/2012/03/02/canon-eos-5d-mkiii/
"The G1 X's sensor is 20% smaller than in most Canon DSLRs, but that still makes it 16% larger than Four Thirds,..."I'm sure that there's a lot of people out there who find the Canon 5D exciting but I personally can't afford a $3500 camera body. To each their own.....
In that case, Canon website just dropped the price on their 5D mkii refurbs to $1750. In most real-life situations, 5D mkii and mkiii will produce similarly wonderful images. So far, it appears 5D mkiii will come in handy with very high ISO shots, as ISO 25600 shots and videos look just as clean as mkii's ISO 6400. All those lenses that were a bit "touchy" on mkii will also focus much more accurately on mkiii with the 1Dx based AF system.
Though depending on what focal length you want the 7D may be better due to the crop factor and 8fps.
