GAS on Stereophile
« on: 1 Mar 2012, 04:19 pm »
Hey guys....  :D

Mark (Blackmore) brought to my attention that Stereophile is gathering a list of regional audio groups and thought it might be a good idea if we're on there.
Here's the link: http://www.stereophile.com/audiophilesocieties/

Per the instructions in the first paragraph, I sent off for the info-pack.
Here's what I got back:

Hi,
Thank you for showing interest in the Stereophile web listing for Audio Societies. Please respond to the following questionnaire.

Name of Society:
State in which located:
Phone number (optional):
Website (optional):
Email address:
General information: (might include how often you meet, and other interesting information)
This information may be updated when needed, yet not intended for posting regularly changing events.

Best Regards,
Chris Vogel

Any of you eloquent enough to type up a description of our little group?
If we come up with something good, I'll forward it back to Chris.

How about "we are a friendly collection of non intense audiophiles who are more concerned about the enjoyment of music rather than the method of getting there" .

The question "state in which located?", should be answered " often drunken and sometimes bordering lunacy".

Bob,

You asked for wordsmiths to write our intro for Stereophile but I thought of another thing GAS needs, a logo.  We will need a logo for the facebook page that you are going to put up too.  But that's another thread...  :peek:

We may have the logo covered:

Compliments of Marktwain.  It may have changed ever so slightly though.

There may be an electronic version of that logo somewhere as we did get some shirts made up with the logo on them. Mark Blackmore co-ordinated having them made.

Well the two are similar.  On that one, is that supposed to be a KT88 to the right of the driver?  And perhaps a EL34 to the left?

I'ld vote for the http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=22831.msg202783#msg202783 logo.

Me, too, but I think it has too much detail.  Last thing we want to do is to be caught staring at someone's chest figuring out which tubes are which.

Uh, but on second thought.................. :duh:

This logo....

....got voted as our 'official' logo way back at our 12/5/05 gathering. That is where that logo came from. Steve K is the one who came up with the design.

There are a few of us who actually bought some polo shirts with Steve's logo embroidered on them.

If somebody had time and was handy with a graphics program, they could polish up either of the the logos and re-present them to all.
