SOLD: Oracle Premiere Mk IV (no arm)
« on: 29 Feb 2012, 03:35 pm »
This Oracle Premiere Mk IV is the last incarnation of the Premiere line, before Oracle has moved to Oracle Delphi Mk V. All of Oracle innovations were first implemented into Premiere line, so this one has a Turbo power supply, and the same motor that went into the Delphi Mk V later on. Many, including me, consider Premiere tables better than Delphi. Some think that Mk IV platter is a better platter than Mk V platter, but I will not comment on that. Mk IV platter is an aluminum/acrylic composite. Premiere is larger than Delphi, has a much larger arm-board. My table was a very rare some sort of Anniversary edition, with gold-plated parts. I picked it up on my trip to Toronto about 5 years ago, seller could not ship it. Since then it has served me exceptionally well with zero problems. I have the original manual, one extra arm-board drilled for the Dynavector 507, which will most likely accomodate other arms. I don't know which arm the current arm-board is drilled for, but I have used it with Adanalog MG-1. Mk V Delrin tower posts were installed by Oracle a few years back. The Dynavector 505 currently on it IS NOT FOR SALE as it is on loan to me from my friend. The combination is excellent, but Oracle themselves recommend SME arms. I have the original double box, but inner formed foam piece is missing, only top and bottom remain. I, however, am an excellent packer and guarantee it to arrive intact. Included with table are: extra springs, extra new belt, extra new rubber o-rings for towers, dust cover posts, original dust cover (which was damaged and then badly glued by previous owner), new taller dust cover which was made to my order and it will have enough clearance for most arms including Dynavector 507, which I have used on it. There is a couple of minute scratches, and some of the gold plating is rubbed-off on edges by previous owner while polishing (see pictures), but it still looks great! Table sounds exceptionally clean and clear, and is a huge improvement over Delphi. And, it looks fantastic. I am only selling it to finance my new turntable project, and I know I will be sorry later :-(  Please excuse the shabby conditions of it's placement: it is being stored in the safest place I could find for it.

It was well over $5000 new. I'm looking to get $2000 (no arm)
