No Rez for use in a transmission-line
« on: 24 Feb 2012, 03:04 pm »
I was wondering if using  No Rez in a transmission-line speaker would change it's tuning?

Many of the full-range, single driver speaker plans I have seen only use damping material
in/on certain areas of the enclosure while avoiding using any damping material at all in other
areas of the enclosure. Are there any recommendations on this point?

Also, what about using No Rez in combination with other common damping materials such
as polyfil, felt, recycled denim (cotton) batting, etc... ?

Thanks in advance for all replies :)

I use No Rez in our A/V-3 and N3 transmission line models and add additional poly fill or fiberglass insulation right behind the drivers. Works great.

So long as you are not blocking air flow with the foam then you aren't going to effect the tuning too much.
