Have been downloading free FLAC for Ektoplazm again lately.
http://www.ektoplazm.com/

I generally go for Downtempo related.

Great music, I like strong rythm, nice work from these guys :thumb: maybe I buy the CD.
the funny video is irrelevant to me, as the music had standalone life.
I have listen something like this before, some 30 years ago, just slower

Quote
Condominium is a compilation. Actually no, it's something more. Condominium is a building built by microsounds sound and movement, in which each of the fifteen artists who are carrying the pieces have in common with others the same sensitivity in the interpretation of electronic music, which is expressed here in its most warm and human. ..
the stylistic unity The compilation itself which can be thus seen, thanks to a shared vision of the artists who participate, the more unique and indivisible as the work as a whole and not as a simple collection of songs, so that it becomes almost impossible to go to draft a judgment about individual songs . Although, after careful listening, you will be pleasantly surprised by Claudia Bonarelli with his Tips For Restless Youth, Contra dall'ipnotica of Ether and the same Retina.it, confirming their value with a flavor almost Buitar The industrial and shaken by an amazing bassline. Also notable is not the only instrumental track, the gently psychedelic Satisfaction by Velma, able to dress and waves of sizzling glitch dub that is nothing more than a simple pop song getting one of the most successful pieces of the entire collection. In conclusion, for lovers of some electronic sounds, listening to the Condominium may therefore be extremely intriguing and generous with good surprises. Truly remarkable.

Weee. Love threads like this.

Factory Floor. Amazing new music coming from them. Lots of inspiration from Throbbing Gristle and DFA Records type stuff. Here's Two Different Ways: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4T2K-dkxA4

Here's a track they did with Carter Tutti (former Throbbing Gristle members). Great ambient, haunting track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VL49YvsPtKs

Another album I am really digging is the new Tycho album. Ambient, but a bit more upbeat and has many great expansive tracks. Tycho - A Walk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mehLx_Fjv_c

Last one from me, the new track from Clark - Com Touch. Can't wait for this album to come out. Check out his other works too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nq4M7QBxt4

Keep em' coming.

Probably new to a lot outside of the UK
Redshift (the UK version) while Tangerine Dream orientated - their latest is a real grower.
Buying their early catalogue can now be rather wallet emptying.

Portico Quartet

Not 100% electronic, but an interesting mix of electronic beats and synths with traditional jazz instrumentation.

Orbital 2

Probably their best work, though I like Snivilization and Insides a lot to.  They are due for a new album soon.

Here's one that Pitchfork reviewed recently, it's down tempo, bass lover's ambient music. Very cool soundscapes. The artist is Gang Colors:

Orbital split in 2004.  They are/were one of my favorites.  They put on a great live show too!

I was talking with a friend from here Saturday about the Ektoplazm website-I had no idea there were so many classifications or categories for this style. I like to sit back, close my eyes, and board whatever transportation my selected group is using and let my mind wonder or travel with the players.

I'm guessing its called downtempo?? The 120-135 BPM stuff is the same thing over and over with synth lines over top and it gets old very fast. Take me from point A to B then through the atmosphere to C and drop me off nicely.
What categpry is that??  LOL

Downtempo? Give a listen to múm and Sigur Rós. Both from Iceland and, while not necessarily dub, will take you for a ride.

Oh yea...if it sounds like I enjoy dub---I don't, It may work for many but I don't see any value to it. The art was already created, somebody just took it and sliced it up, like a film trailer.
