A former $4,000 player that beat 5 figure competition, at $750 this unit is spectacular value... really a great way to get into high end digital.

Tons of detail and great soundstaging, this universal player casts enormous and beautiful, wall-to-wall images with my Thiel 2.4s. Capable of 24bit/96kHz resolution, the players’ DACs create gorgeous, grain free sound, especially with DVD-A ("Muddy Waters: Folk Singer" is particularly amazing) and SACD disks. See the 6moons review for a professional perspective on the unit: http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/exemplar/denon.html. Externally, the player has two very small dings in the faceplate, and a light rub/scratch on the left side; none of which are visible from a couple feet away. There is also a small operational issue… when cold, the player can be finicky about reading disks, this issue goes away after about 1 minute, shortly after the tubes have warmed. I only found out about this issue after leaving my system unplugged while away for the holidays (at 55 degrees).

The current price reflects these issues. This unit has the optional Siltech wiring (a $450 option) and comes with an extra set of 1966 Phillips E180CC tubes (see pics). Original box, manual, and remote included.  I'm only selling to fund the purchase of another universal with blu-ray.

Ohhh... and you can check my feedback on a-gon.  User: cal3713.  Another 6 transactions (4 sales) aren't reflected on that because of the recent "update" to the site that basically ruined the feedback system.
