Power amp input impedence is not an issue with the unity gain buffer in this unit (like the $7000 Placette Active). This unit replaced the Placette Passive Linestage in my system, offering improved presence, weight, and richness while retaining the supreme transparency of the Placette. These improvements became glaringly apparent with my Pass Labs XA30.5 and its 23 kohm input impedance (the STP-SE drove it without breaking a sweat!), but were also very much present with high impedance amps.
It also has a ton of features including 3 single-ended + 2 fully-balanced inputs, 2 single-ended + 2 fully balanced outputs, selectable home theater bypass for any input as well as input naming, 2 12V output triggers -- great for having pre and power amps behind closed doors -- and a 12V INPUT trigger -- extremely useful when running HT bypass.
I bought this as a dealer demo just 3 months ago with only about 30 hours on it, but I am now fulfilling my dream of owning the $8500 Conrad Johnson CT5. Transferable warranty until 1/14.
Comes with original double box, manual, and remote. I am not including the standard generic 3.5mm male-male cable for 12v triggers as I stripped it to use with an amp that uses a 4P4C connector.
