VSA Masterbuilt bi-wire Speaker Cables

Greetings!
My new VSA Masterbuilt cables have arrived and set up! Last Monday my dealer came by and set them up. First impresions out of the box: Much more bass and instrumental detail, it's hard to believe the manual states that the break-in time is 500 hours! These cables sound great already!! Interesting thing with my McIntosh MC352, there is not much movement with the power meters, of course, when I turn the volume up and down, they will adjust with the volume, however durning loud musical peaks, the meters show very little movement. Another thing, the manual says to keep the cables off the carpet. Any suggestions? Can't imagine how these cables will sound when they are fully broken in.

Congratulations Henry and welcome to the club
Carpet tends to build up static so getting cables off them is a good thing. Lot's of cable risers available on the market. I use Shunyata Dark Field Elevators. While I hear no difference they look nice LOL I'm betting improvised wood elevators would do the trick. I guess you'll need 6 to 8 pieces based on your pics.
In time you'll start to hear better dimensionality as your cables burn in. Enjoy!!!!!!!

To elevate my Masterbuilt speaker cables and interconnects I use short desktop microphone stands with cheap plastic clamps. Rather than clamping the grey jacket portion of the cables directly, I cut about 8" lengths of velcro strips from a roll and fasten it into loops. Then I clamp the loops with the mic clamps. This way I can just let the cables hang in the loop. It sounds better than clamping that portion of the cables directly (especially bad are metal clamps).
I use a microphone boom stand and clamp to hold the speaker cables where they connect to the speakers to avoid stressing the wires. The plastic mic clamp seems to work without degrading the sound clamping the large black part of the cable next to where the terminating wires emerge.
I also use the mic stands to support the Masterbuilt powercords in the wall outlet, either directly feeding an amp or to a power conditioner, with the same method. By the way, do you have the Masterbuilt powercords yet? If not, well, you're in for a treat when you try them.

Bob/Jack,
Thanks for your comments on elevating my cables, I will sure look around. Since my system is a combination 2 channel/home theater set-up, the back of my cabinet, with all those cables, looks like a pile of angel hair pasta!!!!!
No Masterbuilt PC yet, after I save up some $$$, that will be next on the agenda.

Hey there Henry...you lucky dog. Glad the Masterbilts are sounding sweet. I looked at your pix and saw that you are running a ML Cinema center channel. That's the same speaker I have in my HT and I love it!

Gavin and gang......
The break-in process is going very well, seems like I've got a new set of speakers. If anyone out there is an Andres Vollenweider fan, you should check out his "Book of Roses" remastered CD! I believe this is one of his best works. His harp playing sound incredible on my VR5 Annies. Yes Gavin, that is an ML Cinema center channel speaker, one of the best.

Hi Henry..
Oh yes, Andres Vollenweider...two of his cds...Caverna Magica was one and can't remember the other, were two of the very early cds in my 1500+ collection. Pretty cool music.

Hey,
I adore my MB speaker cables, but if you think they are good, try doubling them up to achieve a set of Signature speaker cables, the difference is phenomenal.
As for the break in, like you, i found mine great out of the box, but they did improve slightly over time.

Whytejon,
They are the VSA Signatures! They are really sounding great. So much details, especially in the midrange. A very satisfying purchase!
