These are in the older style chassis but have all but the latest update; equipped with the power supply boost option; ModWright copper foil and Teflon coupling capacitors. Include in sale are a pair of custom Sound Anchors stands specifically designed for these amps and I will also include a complete set of spare output tubes. I purchased 100 of these and matched them all, these are the pick of the lot and have not been used. If the asking price is met I will also include a some extra 6SN7 tubes.

These are the best amps I've ever owned but life is changing and they need to go. Please contact by email or PM and I'll respond as quickly as possible.

Mike

To sweeten the deal I'll include a pair of Speltz Zero Autoformers. Help me out folks, it's basement cleaning time. :)

I've heard Mike's McIntosh MC275 amp as well as his Cyber Consonance 211/845 mono blocks.  If the Atma-Sphere M60's are better, they must be very special indeed.

Hope everything is well, Mike.

Regards,

Randy

I have Atma-Sphere amps and Speltz Zeros...the combination is excellent and in my system produces the most enjoyable music my Vandy 5A's have ever presented to me.

Besides getting great gear (that is meticulously maintained), you are also buying from one of the best people out there in Mike.

Highly recommended.

What are those globes in front? Rectifiers or signal?
I think I could like these amps very much.

Go for them, Bill.  You know Mike takes good care of his stuff.  In fact, I know these are better than NIB amps because Mike has put in his upgrades.  With all the extras he is throwing in, this is a fabulous deal if you need a pair of amps in this power range.   I would have taken them a couple of months ago if they were available.   I ended up with a pair of Art Audio monos.  :duh:

Bill, they are Ming-Da "Globe Trotter" 6SN7s, they are the input tube and for my tastes they were the tube of choice in the position, at least for what I had available. I tried some NOS Sylvania's, the Sophia Electric ST shaped ones, some of the 'good' Russian 6SN7 equivalent and the newer Tung-Sol re-issue from China. A little info: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=77211.0

FWIW, my friend Jerry has the Jazz Modules and I brought the M-60's over to his place. Had he the extra coin they would be there now. We had that conversation just last night. :)

Oh yes.  The Jazz Modules never, ever sang so sweetly.  It is clear Duke voiced them with Atma-spheres.  They would be in my hot little hands today if I was flush.  I have listened to these amps in Mike's system and mine for many hours and the speed and transparency are truly unrivaled.

I love the retro look, too.  They are industrial art.  These should have been gone 10 minutes after posting.  Mike does superb work, a real craftsman and he knows what he is doing.  I genuinely cannot name another pair of amps with these sound qualities and extras that I would even consider for $3600?

I don't know many people who spent as much time finding an amp they could love and live with than George.  That really says it all.

If you have never heard these amps buy them anyway.   Galusha is breaking my heart.  :bawl:

Those are gorgeous amplifiers...

If it weren't tax time, I'd take em off your hands in a heartbeat.  Whoever gets these is in for a treat!

Congratulations!!   (pending)

Seems like a number of our smarter members are selling off their favorite amps. I wish I was smarter.

No idea if it's smart or not, I may well regret it but the amps along with other stuff just has to go.

Ya... my basement is a stockpile of stuff. I sold my giant 300B/845 SET integrated last week. I have some assorted speakers/drivers, more amplifiers, cables, old HP distortion analyzer, Heathkit IM analyzer, 20mHz scope, some CD/SACD/DVD players, a really cool equalizer. You know how it goes.

Other stuff?

Amps have been sold.

I have to say, there are some kind folks here. I've had a surprising number of PM's and emails and even phone calls asking if everything is all right because of the life is changing comment. I'm touched, thanks guys.

Yep, life is changing. I want to simplify the system somewhat, or at least reduce the number of tubes; my wife is now retired, so fewer funds and amps that draw 400W each are a bit expensive to run, so a little cost savings there.

Mike is one of the best of us all.  Congrats.

Which amp did you decide to keep? The Mac 275?

I understand thinning out the herd.  I am doing that a bit myself.  I find that over the last few years I just haven't spent much time in DIY, so I am slowly getting rid of a *LOT* of supplies and things.  I want to go back to a more minimalistic lifestyle even if just barely.

Josh,

I sold the Mc last year. Right now I'm using a little LM3886 based chip amp, actually isn't too bad. I have an old Aranov 960 amp, KT-88 push pull, I think with some better tubes and perhaps some other bits it will serve me for a while. I'm considering a Pass XA30.5 but I want to hear for myself what the Hypex nCore amps can do, so for now I'm in kind of a holding pattern. :)
