Headphone fatalities...
« on: 20 Feb 2012, 03:39 pm »
I have recently noticed more articles in the news with respect to accidents and unfortunately, fatalities related to individuals wearing headphones or earbuds while "out and about." Last year, I had a few individuals walk into the street in front of me, oblivious to their surroundings while fiddling with their iPod and listening to their music. I am curious if anyone else has experienced near misses also.

ya all the time. not just ipod's but cell phones too. esp. at intersections you just don't know which way they will go( like they even have a clue what they are doing)

Check these out, the technology has jumped up a bit over over the last 3 or 4 years ... smaller and sound better than older products.

Tend to go 12-15 hrs per charge on the internal battery, won't go all day long like a passive earbud .. but most people don't go for 12-hour jogs anyway

The first batch of them evaporated pretty quickly. Barnes and Noble online still had them a couple of days ago, other places you might have to wait a few weeks for more to come in.

Seem to still be there, plus free shipping. The two models here are the same except the Mobile has a voice mic. -- There's a third model available elsewhere called Gaming whose connectors are probably inappropriate for most listener's uses. Sport or Mobile are the ones to get.

Music you can feel right through to your bones and marrow. :thumb:
Very safe but let's give up on audiophile air around instruments... :duh:

Always wanted music when cycling but didn't like to blast ears to overcome wind noise and traffic. Ill take less fidelity in this situation.
