I'm a sci-fi enthusiast and I'm wondering what people thought of this movie??

It was worth a watch, but the original is a much better movie, IMH0. Better characters, more suspense, and I thought the creatures looked better in the original version then the CGI creatures in the new version.

Not yet, but when it's cheap enough I may get it. Always loved the 1951 original with Ken Toby and James Arness, though it didn't really follow the book's storyline as well as John Carpenter's 1982 remake. Will give Carpenter credit for the quality of both that and his remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and I'm not into remakes as a rule. Would be nice if Hollywood could find some good new imaginative writers rather than simply trying to recycle classics with CGI flash & dazzle.

An okay movie, not as good like the original but still a horror film.

I thought Avatar was definitive recycling . . like cowboys vs. indians, good vs. evil.  Thought District 9 creamed it.
