My question for James: In the Bryston BP 1.5 phono box, the unit is 'on', and one only flips the 'mute' switch.
Does the mute switch only mute, or does it turn off some power?

And if i leave it unmuted, though my preamp is not selecting the BP 1.5, can the BP 1.5 be harmed in any way leaving it 'unmuted? 100% of the time?

((It seems it takes a little while for the sound to be great when i switch to the BP 1.5 (which may be the cart, or whatever..) anyway I want to see if leaving it on  (unmuted) is better, but as i mentioned, can it be harmed doing that?))

Hello Elisabeth,
It looks like BP1.5 is operating all the time as long as MPS2 is delivering power to it, regardless of mute switch.
The only solution to swith it off is to unplug it´s power cord.
Fine piece of gear anyway!  :thumb:
Let´s wait for Jame´s answer.

I leave all my gear on 24/7 anyway. i am not concerned about turning it off at all. Just to leave it unmuted but the preamp not using it.. Thanks though.
