Here's a new one for you...
I am running the analog headphone out from my imac to an Assemblage L-1 preamp/B&K EX4420 amplifier combo. This morning I decided to take the preamp out of the picture to see how it would sound without it.
Without the preamp in picture, I hear an AM radio station (1510am I think) through the speakers if itunes is open even with nothing selected or an audio stream via a web browser is playing. Once I shut down itunes or close the browser, I hear the station for approximately 30 more seconds at which point it stops.
The volume of the AM station is constant regardless of the volume or what is playing in itunes.
What is going on here?
I thought that the issue might be related to the amplifier or having a 12 foot interconnect so I tried connecting my Thinkpad to the system using the same method burt there's no issue with this setup.
