A very rare opportunity to buy a complete single driver speaker system utilizing AER MK II drivers, Tonian Lab RL-R2 super tweeters, and Art of Sound RAPTOR-XT subwoofers. This speaker system’s frequency range is 18Hz – 38KHz.
MAINS
The AER MK II drivers are a more expensive version that offer a smoother, more detailed, and dynamic version of the AER MKI drivers. The drivers are installed in a FS Acousta back-loaded horn cabinets made with cabinet grade mahogany veneered ¾ “ plywood. Cardas speaker posts are used. This speaker is a very similar to the Lammhorn 1.8s.
SUBWOOFERS
This system was assembled to build around the strengths of the AER MKII speakers. First, two special versions of the 12”Art of Sound RAPTOR with 1” cabinet walls and 500 watt amplifiers with parametric EQ are used to extend to the bottom octaves. Due to the enhancements to the RAPTOR, Dave Craig of Art of Sound has named them RAPTOR-XT. The Parametric EQ allows for seamless matching of the subs to the AERs.
SUPERTWEETERS
Tonian Lab TL-R2 supertweeters have been configured to work specifically with the AERs. (They can be matched other speakers. The TL-R2s come with three Supra Boxcon binding posts; two positive, one negative. This configuration allows the use of a resistor between the positive terminals to adjust the speaker's sensitivity and match with your main speakers.)
The result is very coherent, detailed, dynamic, musical sound with excellent imaging and depth of sound. These speakers are 101DB efficient so they match well with SET amplifies. I have used 2A3 and 300B tube amplifiers that create a magical “you are there” experience. They also work well with solid state amplification.
I am including links to the reviews of the Lamhorn 1.8 speakers as they are very similar to mine, the Tonian Labs TL-R2 super tweeters, and a previous sub produced by Art of Sound as no professional reviews have been conducted on the latest products. I am attaching an image depicting the back-loaded design of the FS Acousta cabinets. The cabinets were made by an amateur furniture maker.

I will be offering this system as a complete package only for one week after which I will post separate ads for each part of the system. Included is a jumper cable to connect the AERs to the supertweeters.
I live in the St. Louis area (Belleville, IL) and would welcome anyone who would like to hear the speakers. I do not have boxes for the AER speakers so unless you are willing to pay for building crates for the speakers, this system is limited to local sales.
