They just returned from Berning himself. The amp has the auto-bias upgrade, fixed a loose tube socket and a new cap and check up. The preamp had a FET replaced, and general maintenance.
They both have the black faceplates with rack ears.
The amp has beautiful sounding Brimar 6SN7's, and almost NOS 6NJ6's. Also, Brimar 12AT7's.
The preamp has TFK 12AX7 for the phono and Brimar 12AT7's/
They sound tremendous together and together they will stay. I will not separate them.
The total cost of Berning's work was US 810.00
If this pair sells, I keep my Woodside Integrated amp and upgrade my CDP/SACD situation. If the Woodside sells first, then this ad is closed.
