Make a pair!

(For example  :D )

I have shame for not wanting to build a pair.
That said I have a brand new pair of Mark Alpair 7.3 that I could use.

Well, that should certainly be an upgrade from my suggestion :)

I agree, NHT's.  But also consider PSB B4's, Monitor Audio's  M series , PSB Alpha B1's, Paradigm Atoms, B&W 686's.  If you want to go budget, consider infinty Primus 152's, stereophile gave then a good write up a few years ago.

here's a review on the $250pr PSB Alpha B1's-

Gallo Micro or A'Diva?  (roundsound.com)  Colorful/round, great for baby.

TBI Majestic Diamond I or IR  (tbisound.com)  Maker of those amazing/compact subs.

All are at or under $600/pair.  All are under 6 inches across.  All wall mountable.  All placement friendly (even bookshelfs).  Bass response rated as low as 40 Hz.

I ended up buying a pair of the Paradigm Millenia One.
The are solidly built come with mounting hardware. They sounded quite good mounted on walls at the shop.
