I need some clarification on the SPDIF digital output on the BDA-1…. I’m looking at replacing my CD/DVD player and would like to get an Oppo BDP-93 blu-ray.
The BDA manual says, “The signal present at the SPDIF output connector is the same signal that is selected as an input source.” So does that mean I can use the ‘digital out’ as a ‘pass through’ and then connect it to the SDPIF digital in on my SP2?
Resulting in….
For movies the SP2 is doing the DA conversion
(Digital out of BDP-93 BDA-1 (Digital out) Digital in on the SP2)
For 2channel Audio the BDA-1 is doing the DA conversion and then outputting analog to my SP2
(Digital out of BDP-93 BDA-1 (Analog out) Analog in on the SP2)
I already have the SP2 but haven’t picked up the OPPO or the BDA-1 yet.
Any thoughts?
