Ventilation/ Orientation-Isolation Transformers
« on: 7 May 2004, 01:32 am »
I am installing a pair of isolation transformers (Topaz Ultra Isolator Noise Suppressors) and look to mount them outdoors in a weatherproof electrical box.

The boxes allow about four inches of room on all sides- is this sufficient ventilation or should I cut some louvers to allow heat to escape?

Also, does it matter whether they are setting upright or placed so the feet are on the ground?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts/ experience.
