Didn't think I would ever sell this amplifier, but circumstances dictate this amp and a few other items in my collection go. I will be placing an ad on Audiogon for this amp when they straighten out my account. Perfect feedback there under the username Rusty_Jefferson.
The D150C is John Hillig's flagship amplifier, and no expense was spared building this one. It has a dual mono front end with Silmic capacitors and mil spec resistors, a dual mono Blackgate power supply, dual wound toroidal transformer, and MOSFET output stage. Just sent to John in spring 2010 for the latest available updates. 9/10 condition on the Audiogon scale, but saying 8/10 as I'm the second owner.
The sound is superlative. Effortless, 3 dimensional imaging, rock solid bass, smooth, natural and uncolored. I would put this amp up against amps with twice the retail price.
Would welcome a local sale in the D.C. metro area to allow an audition, but no problem shipping. If you know John's top end build quality, you know how good this amp sounds.
Asking: $2750
New Retail: $4995
