Incredible rare Galante Rhapsody Speakers with original Radian drivers. Great sound and perfect cosmetics ! Highly recommend for low-powered tube amps.
Cabinets are pristine, ie. I couldn't find any marks on the visible areas, but I would like to mention a chip that has been fixed below (when removing blu-tack from the stands). This small imperfection is not distracting since you cannot see it (obstructed by stands plate). I can send detailed pictures if required. Most Galante's offered for sale do have finish aged differently around drivers, these ones NOT ! The Grills are perfect.
The terminals have been upgraded to Cardas binding posts. A single knob tightens both leads of the connected cable at the same time, without tools.
The Rhapsody features a superb coaxial drive system consisting of an 8" paper and treated fabric surround cast frame woofer and a 1" exit, aluminum diaphragm compression driver - unique in that it loads off the woofer cone as opposed to a true horn.
With a sensitivity of 96 dB, dimensions of 18" H x 12" W x 10.5" D, the Rhapsody can be driven with as little as 2 watts/ch.
It will be welcomed by many audio enthusiasts for it's easy, room placement ability and fit into a wide variety of decors. The Rhapsody has surprisingly good bass for its' size and is well balanced due to its' tuned rear porting, giving a usable frequency response of 50 Hz-20 Khz. Custom manufactured air core inductors, high quality polypropylene and polystyrene capacitors and resistors are used in their crossovers. Precision HF attenuators allow for a +- 1.5 dB contour to help insure optimum frequency response in varied room acoustics.
Google online the rave review from enjoythemusic . The Galantes are higly recommended for classical music and acoustic jazz. My combination with the Fi2a3, Leben CS300xs and Eico HF-81 is magical.
