Good burning practices

I have had trouble burning reliable cdr's. I use Itunes to an external OWC Mercury Pro CD/DVD writer.

I am suspecting cheap cdr's??... "Verbatim Inkjet Printable CD-R".

About 1 out of 3 or 4 won't play in my car.

Anybody have any advice?

Thanks

I've always had trouble with Verbatim discs for music. Data-wise they're fine. My preference for music CDR's are either Mitsui Gold or Sony Black.

Mitsui Gold looks to be about $1.50 each. Looking for something a little cheaper.

I couldn't find any google info on Sony Golds. Could you be more specific?

I use Black Memorex CD-Rs and I am very satisfied with the results I get. They are not rated for archival usage but I am only using them in my truck as an alternative to the FM radio. I usually can find them at BestBuy.
When I used my CD player for playback a black Memorex CD-R consistently sounded better than the original.
I use an USB external DVD/CD burner and burn with the DB Poweramp program. I have noticed that I have much better results when I limit the burn speed to no more 10x. So far I have had no problems playing any of my black CD-Rs in the car.
Be advised that the dyes used in CD-Rs are not rated for the temperature extremes that are encountered inside a car during the summer months. They are also not intended to survive exposure Ultraviolet Radiation.

Amazon has 50 for 22.99 and free shipping. That works out to about 46 cents apiece.

Sony black, not gold. Just look for the Sony 'Audio' discs with the black label.
