I have a pair of the IRD monoblocks but since they are not compatible with my tubed linestage, I think I am going to sell them and pick up a pair of the Scott Nixon amps. I have heard great things about the Nixons but I was wondering if anyone has heard both of them? If so can you give me a little feedback? I will be using them to drive a pair of Meadowlark Swifts. Thanks.

i think that's a great question    i would love to know how the IRD mb-100s compare to the scott nixon monobocks.  i'd also like to know how the mb-100s compare to the odyssey audio khartago monos or stratos stereo extreme.   it might be a long shot though finding someone who has had a chance to critically compare them.

I tested the MB100's..well, the nOrh Le Amps against a Stratos.  Keep in mind that the LeAmps had the cap in the signal path and the MB100's don't.

Here is a thread re: Le Amp with the cap removed vs Stratos

After hearing the LeAmp, it is impossible for me to believe that any amps coming out of there would even be near anything coming out of Scott's place.  LeAmp was one of the worst amps I have ever heard.  My friend replaced them with an Arcam RECEIVER.

The Scott Nixon amps are 20 and 40 watts. I own the 40 watt Mono's...I purchased them from Hantra. They are presently at Carlman's in N.C.. I have not heard the Le Amp. Just a little info. Build and sound quality on the Nixon Mono's is very good....and for their price ....excellent !! IMO :)
