My SSD with FAT32 formatting was working with the BDP-1 and with my computer for downloading music files until I updated the BDP-1 firmware.  Now it is not even recognized as a drive by the BDP-1 or by any of the three other computers and multiple USB ports I have tried.  I have replaced the USB cable and was able to verify that the SSD is working.  Have others encountered this problem?  Any suggestions?

Hi fado

I have had one SSD die on me. Does the BDP recognize other drives OK? Are you saying other computers recognize the SSD ?

The BDP recognizes the Bryston flash drive; I have not tried others yet.  The computers do not recognize the SSD drive.  My local computer repair store hooked up the SSD directly to one of their computers and it was recognized immediately as a drive with all files listed.  They did not have a spare SSD to test my enclosure so that is suspect.

The Bryston firmware update has only a temporal relationship to the drive recognition problem but I wanted to find out if this had previously been reported before sending everything back to the manufacturers.   Thank You

Clarification:  "... before sending everything back to the manufacturers" ... EXCEPT my BDP-1.

I sent back the SSD that went bad on me and they replaced it no problem - it does point out though to always make sure you have your music files backed up. :thumb:
