John, I just looked at your systems "Cybil, a two-channel audio system by TheChairGuy" That is freaking funny!! Having a friend with multiple personalities is better than having several friends.
Less food and booze to buy! By the way I am a closet linaem lover. I am looking at a pair as I type. Nice to see some levity here on AC.
Still here!
Yeah - love the Lineaums - the pair i have have dusted several speakers I brought in to potentially replace them: all more costly, too. Its a simple 2-way ported design with the awfully good bi-directional Lineaum tweeter up top that simply never seems to overload and remains true to tone on any music. Its revealing to the point of amusing on many pieces of music

I think I paid $200 for them from a guy in Portland in 2004...rewired them, clayed the entire inside speaker surfaces and woofer baskets, added cross bracing, needed polyfill inside, drop a 10lb bag of sand in the bottom to keep em grounded and put them on Speaker outriggers with nice big, brass toes. They do so much right for so little spent I'm often amazed at them.
For a room 12 x 15' or so they are entirely adequate. The Gallo TR-1 sub is rarely needed for reinforcement.
The crossover is the silliest and most small/simple one I think I've ever seen and probably a reason for the unforced sounds it makes, too.
Do u own a pair already? Which model? Occasionally, a nice one comes up on ebay. The Linaeum tweeters used by Linaeum are a world better than the licensed designs sold at Radio Shack for many years.
I've not visited, but as u and I live near them, the Stereo Unlimited folks in Walnut Creek are big Linaeum fans, too. Might want to give them a call to see if they know of a nice Linaeum that could use a good, new home
