So, I'm looking at cables for my new Peachtree iNova/Definitive Mythos ST setup, and I see this listing on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Speaker-15-ULT-S1000MT-15/dp/B0006U2EN0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324507014&sr=8-1

Wow - Ok, full-on shielded Monster Cable for $33 each - what a freakin' steal!

I didn't truly anticipate how Monstrous and beefy these things would be. Sorry for crappy phone pic.

Several surprises, all positive - though the listing says 'with monster tips', the picture had no tips, so I bought banana plugs to add on. Un-necessary, it came with tips, as you can see in the pic.

I wasn't clear from the pic/listing whether I was really buying two 15' cables, or one 15' black/red pair, and at $33, it seemed prudent to get a second one so I wasn't stuck if it turned out to be a single. Nope - it was in fact TWO full 15' cables, so I have a spare.

Long story short - I'm inclined to walk these around to every local hi-fi store that's ever tried to charge me $3/foot for Category 4 bulk  speaker wire, wave it in their face and laugh.

Maybe, but some of us (me, for sure) have sworn off buying Monster products forever.  Search the web for Monster's history of egregious and bogus lawsuits.

Ouch.

I have a longstanding policy of doing no business with companies that are abusive like this. Maglight has seen my last flashlight dollar for exactly this reason.

Bummed that I inadvertently supported these jerks. Doubly so because my all-time favorite earbuds are my Monster Turbine Coppers.

Glad I got these for $30 - hoping it cost Monster money as an item sold at a loss.

Grrrrrrr. Thanks for letting me know.

PS - the letter from Blue Jeans is classic - of course, most of what he's discussing is the sort of thing that happens in discovery, but it sounds good. I actually took a copy of that letter for my files... it speaks to the sort of attitude I appreciate.

Sorry for crappy phone pic.

Actually, it's a pretty good pic. What gauge is the cable?

Sorry to take the shine off your deal, but all it takes for evil to succeed if for good people to do nothing.  Glad BJC told 'em to stick it where the sun won't shine.

And yes, I have some Monster (sue me!) products, but trying to give them away.
