30 Watts per channel into 8 ohms, 60 WPC into 4 ohms, pure class A biased. Switches into class A/B operation beyond that delivering 130 WPC into 8 ohms and 195 WPC into 4 ohms before clipping.
Stereophile Class A doesn't even begin to tell the story with this guy. This is one HELL of an amp! Everything else I've had -- Bel Canto, Classe, VTL, Almarro, Belles, McCormack, even Pass' own Aleph 3 -- doesn't even come close! Every time I sit down for a listen it is pure bliss. As far as I'm concerned, this is the entry price for REAL high end, life-like, sound.
This piece is in excellent condition. I can't find a scratch on her, but I'm rating 8/10 to be safe. I am the second owner and have had it for a month. The original owner bought it as a Pass Labs factory refurb from Reno Hi-Fi and seldom had the chance to use it, being on the road all the time, putting less than 10 hours on it. I have put less than 350 (and counting) myself. It is still under warranty until 3/2012. Comes with original box, manual, and power cord.
I am selling it because I stumbled upon a great deal on a Luxman M-600A. That is a $9,000 amp and I am still nervous about selling the Pass. The Luxman, which I've never heard, was an impulse buy based on a mesmerizing experience I had with its big brother, the M-800A (a $16,000 amp), in a very expensive set up years ago. It's hard to imagine enjoying a solid state amp in my system more than this Pass XA30.5, though, so I definitely feel like I'm taking a gamble and may end up coming back to it. At the current time, I need to recoup my costs for upcoming educational expenses.
