Tonearm Rewire in St. Louis Area?
« on: 18 Dec 2011, 10:32 pm »
Hi, I was wondering if anybody here knows of a tech in St. Louis who would be able and willing to perform a tonearm rewire?  I have a Technics SL-1200MK2 and I want to replace the stock tonearm wiring with something better, such as Cardas wire.  I do know of Kevin at KAB out of New Jersey who offers all those upgrades for the SL turntables, but I don't want to ship my table or buy a new arm from him with the wire pre-installed.  I would like to find a good local tech who could rewire the arm I have.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions.  Thank you!

There are three places you can take it to. The first is Mike Missel. He can be reached at mjmsound1@gmail.com. The second is Jeff Jackson at St Louis Computronics. He can be reached at stlouiscomputronics.com. Mike actually works part time for Jeff so either way Mike could end up doing it for you. The third is Alpha-Tech on Bigbend. 314-645-5250.

Any of these are more than capable of taking care of the rewire.

I agree with Tim, all 3 are more than capable.  :thumb:

Thanks for the suggestions.  That guy Jeff actually repaired a home theater receiver for me some time ago, but he didn't occur to me when I was thinking about upgrading my tonearm wiring.  Thanks again for your replies, I appreciate it.
