MPD Remote Control Question
« on: 17 Dec 2011, 06:49 pm »
I have a Kindle Fire and the Pmix and MPdroid apps are not available to download at the Kindle app store yet. If I put in the IP address of my BDP-1 in the Kindle Fire web browser address window the "BDP-1 Home Page" comes up and I can use my BDP-1 remotely. I was wondering, how am I able to do that without remote control software such as MPdroid for the Bryston MPD installed? I think that maybe I just have a poor understanding of MPD's and remote control for MPD's in general. I have read about them in my BDP-1 manual but I do not get it completely. Thanks in advance for your help.

The BDP has control software (Max, Mini, ...) that are acessed through a browser.

Hi JfTM,

Thanks for the follow-up post. So, does that mean that we really DO NOT need a remote control app like MPDroid, etc. to run the BDP-1 MPD? I am still not sure what apps like MPDroid, etc. do for you/me.

A browser is fine if you are happy with Max or mini.
I prefer mPad

Thank you all for the help. I finally figured out how to use the remote control software apps for the Bryston BDP-1 MPD.
