*SOLD*
Hey guys,
Titles says it all. After reading all the posts here on AC for a great starter turntable, I decided to buy one for myself. I ended up buying a pair of these that were display models from a store because they would not sell me just one table. Please note, this was the most recent production model in the US, and has several improvements over the older models. A quick note, the 1200/1210 are identical models, except the 1210 is black and the 1200 is silver. You can read all about the revisions here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technics_SL-1200The turntable itself is mint; I can't find any scratches, dings, or signs of wear. I played me some Rat Pack on it earlier and it sounded great, as it should. It has the rubber and felt technics mat, the Ortofon cartridge (also new) with the cartridge carrying case and brush. The cartridge case has some scuffs on the exterior, but the interior is unblemished. The Ortofon metal case still has the sticker for the 'CCDJSKIT' cartridge / needle with the price of $199.99.
The dust cover, as is typical of Technics SL1200 series, has the plastic hinges that hold it cracked off. This is a *very* common problem, and I'm guessing if you're reading this you know that. This in no way effects the functionality of the cover to sit on top of the turntable. Also, the dust cover has some small scratches and rub marks, from being moved around in storage I would guess.
Anyway, offering this turntable to fellow AC members for $SOLD shipped, well below eB@y pricing for this model in this condition. I do boycott Audiogon, but have several successful transactions here on AudioCircle (you can search in the Trading Post by my handle JP78). If I don't get any replies in a week or so I'll put this guy up on the 'Bay.
Any questions, please ask.
Thanks!
