Hello to all..I am a longtime follower of this forum but have never posted until now. I guess a new set of Songtowers is a good excuse! I have been involved in this audio hobby for about 25 years and have had many different speakers and an absolute ton of source gear. I discovered Salk online a few years back and was going to buy a set of ST then, but curcumstances just kept getting in the way. I finally pulled the trigger in October and they arrived last Friday. They have the RAAL and are finished in straight Mahagony. Jim dyed them just a little darker. The finish is amazing. My good camera is having problems so I apologize for the quality of these pics taken on my phone camera. They do not do them justice at all. As far as how they sound...well, I can't stop smiling! I was using a set of Vandersteen 2CE Sig 2's and the ST-RT is better in every way. They don't go quite as low...but honestly they go plenty low for the music I listen to and I can't imagine the difference is more than a few Hz anyway. Best of all they seem to really like my room. I've moved around alot over the years and am well aware of the effect a room has on the sound. They also like my equipment. My current setup is a Squeezebox Touch feeding a PS audio Digital Link 3. A Music Hall 7.1 turntable and a Luxman 505u amp. The Luxman and the Songtowers are a great combo.
