Budget receiver Onkyo TX-NR509 or Denon AVR-1612 ???
Looking to put together simple system. PS3 with Sony 32" BX series HDTV and NHT ST4 Speakers.
Looking for the in and outs and any reliability or firmware issues with playing audio or video for either unit.
Thanks for the replies.

If you're intending to use the remote that comes with the receiver you should know that Onkyo remotes tend to be much more user-friendly for programming than their Denon counterparts.

That being said, I have a Denon 3808CI and love it.

Best,

I have both Denon (3808 CI + older 3805) and Onkyo (NR-609) in the house and both have performed flawlessly.

Frankly, whichever you can get the best deal on would be the one I would choose.

Check out Newegg, they have the NR-509 for $199 + free shipping.
