How to Rip Bluray
« on: 2 Dec 2011, 09:28 pm »
Hi,

Don't know where to post correctly, thought here would be good: anyone know this piece of software: http://www.dvdfab.com/blu-ray-ripper.htm ?

Is it any good, in terms of Hires audio and converting to a format readable by the Bryston BDA1?

Thanks,
Marius

Marius, I have used their (DVDFAB) DVD clone capability to copy DVD-Audio discs for my car, etc...but not the BluRay one.

I did a quick search on this great CA article and Chris doesn't mention that product either.  he does recommedn others though.

Ok thanks.
What was your conclusion in comparison for example to DVD audio extractor and Dvd audio Explorer for the audio ripping part?

Marius,
I use Extractor for DVD-V and Explorer for DVD-audio (cuz extractor didn't have that DVD-A capability when I started this thing).

I think the title of this thread should have been "Rip! Rip! Bluray!!"

Yeah, I thought it meant RIP bluray, as in Rest in Peace, like it had been killed off or something.

Ted,

What in your experience sounds better: Bluray ripped as described, with either piece of software, or with the audio de-embedder?

Marius, I don't rip BluRay.  Sorry.
