Hi All,First post here.Do any of you happen to know of an affordable power strip that is star wired and/or star grounded?DIY would be fine as well...Thanks!
For a nicer looking enclosure, many of us prefer to use outdoor die-cast aluminum boxes and stainless steel covers. Steve
That is very cool, I hadn't seen that one! No cover needed and has opposite outward facing receptacles that can accommodate multiple transformers and/or right-angle plugs. Steve
You would have to inquire about the wiring but these http://signalcable.com/magicextension.html are a really good deal and they're UL listed.
Thanks, I thought about that one, it does look nice - but I think I'm going to go with one of these:http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?sku=36C2908largely because it has an extra grounding lug, which will be convenient to hook up a particular rack shelf chassis that needs to be grounded.
If that's the case look at this http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190577644440&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:1123I just got one for my soldering bench.
A 20 Amp plug will not fit in a 15 Amp receptacle.A 20 Amp device needs a 12 AWG cord.
Shucks.. Now I'm wondering if the Hammond is such a good idea at $62. Supposedly it has "hospital grade" outlets. Would this actually make a difference do you think?

Would this actually make a difference do you think? So I have another stupid question - if a PDU is rated at 20A, does that mean it needs a wall socket that is wired to handle 20A, or would a 15A wall socket be ok provided that the total current draw were within the limits of the socket?
What are you planing on plugging into this?
Thanks everyone...It's an external power supply rack with three linear Acopian PSUs for a mixing console.
